Once upon a time, there came the idea of creating a television series. This
series would be 24 hour-long episodes, each covering exactly one hour of
real time. The entire season, then, would be the story of one day...the longest
day of CTU Agent Jack Bauer’s life.
"24" is that series. And there have been six seasons worth of long and
terrible days for Jack Bauer.
Entering the seventh season (and, presumably, the next of Jack Bauer’s
really long days) in January 2009, “24” looks to reinvent itself, packing
suspense and intensity into every episode. Sure, not every plot thread is a
winner, and the writers rarely have a clue where they're going, but the series
continues to be one of the best on television.
