"Bionic Woman" was the latest in a string of shows designed to update a cult favorite from the late
1970s.  In the tradition of "Battlestar Galactica", David Eick and other alumni of that production turn to
the story of Jamie Sommers, a woman given bionic implants to overcome a tragedy.  What began with
guarded promise soon crumbled under a constant barrage of creative changes, as showrunner after
showrunner tried to make the series work.  After eight uneven episodes, the series was cancelled.
